Carmel hires Kyle Ayersman as new wrestling head coach

Kyle Ayersman has been named as the new head coach for Carmel Wrestling. Ayersman arrives at Carmel after being an assistant coach at two-time defending state champion Brownsburg.

Coach Ayersman attended Lake Central High School where he posted a 193-2 record with three individual state championships and a third-place finish as a freshman. He later attended Purdue University where he was team captain his senior year. As a coach, he has helped coach 12 individual IHSAA state champions, 52 individual state place winners, and 62 individual state qualifiers.

Ayersman will teach World History in the Freshmen Center and will be in the classroom as the school year begins next week. A wrestler/parent meeting with the new coach will be announced soon for all families.
