Carmel girls beat Guerin Catholic in overtime, Westfield boys fall to Brebeuf Jesuit

The Carmel girls lacrosse team won an all-county game over Guerin Catholic 10-9 in overtime on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles led 6-3 at halftime before the Greyhounds led 9-8 late in the contest. Guerin Catholic scored to send the game into overtime, but Carmel’s Breckin Hare got the winning goal two minutes into the extra period.

Hare finished with three goals and one assist, with Tori Tomalia also adding two goals and handing out two assists. Sophie Mock scored two goals, handed out one assist and had five draw controls. Olivia Slowey, Elle Tomalia and Avery Goehl each scored as well.

Guerin Catholic stats were not available.

Westfield’s boys lacrosse team lost a tough game to Brebeuf Jesuit 8-7 on Wednesday.

The Braves won the game with a last-second goal. Theo Dager had three goals and one assist for the Shamrocks, while the defense had a solid game.

In the junior varsity game, Westfield won 6-0. Evan Kondrat scored two goals, and goalkeepers Josiah Dekruyter and Hayden Buck combined for the shutout.
