Carmel-based travel insurer introduces customizable insurance plan for domestic travel

Seven Corners launches Get Away USA, a trip cancellation, interruption plan

Seven Corners, a leading travel insurance and specialty benefits management company, has launched a new plan to aid customers who are traveling domestically. The plan, Get Away USA, starts with a domestic trip cancellation and interruption base plan and offers customers the ability to add a variety of options to design a coverage plan best suited to travelers’ individual needs.

“As COVID-19 guidelines continue to be a factor in everyday life, Seven Corners remains committed to our customers and their travel needs,” said Seven Corners President Jeremy Murchland. “Travel insurance is typically one-size-fits-all, but with COVID-19 being so unpredictable, we feel users should have access to a truly customizable trip protection plan. We want them to feel a sense of control over their insurance, despite other aspects of travel constantly changing. By creating Get Away USA, we hope customers can feel safe and comfortable as they begin to travel again.”

Add-ons to the base plan include both individual options and bundles. Those who opt for the air travel bundle receive coverage for trip delay, baggage and personal effects, baggage delay and specially selected travel inconveniences. The baggage bundle includes coverage for your baggage and personal effects and baggage delay. The medical bundle provides coverage for emergency accident and medical expense, emergency dental expense, and emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains. Additional add-on options include coverage for Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR), Interruption for Any Reason (IFAR), rental car damage, sports equipment rental, and event ticket registration fee protection.

Seven Corners added the travel inconvenience benefits based on a survey of domestic travelers where 64 percent of respondents saw value in receiving a $150 payment for inconveniences like flight diversion and missing work. Flight diversion applies if the traveler’s flight arrives at a different airport than the original ticketed destination. The missing work benefit pays $150 if the airline causes a traveler’s arrival at their return destination to be delayed two or more days, which, in turn causes a traveler to miss work.

“Throughout our 25 years of equipping customers with travel protection, we’ve always been focused on the customer’s experience,” Murchland added. “Our 24/SEVEN customer service guarantee means that your experience is our priority. Get Away USA is yet another facet of that promise, as it allows customers to tailor their travel insurance to their needs. Customers also have 24/7 access to travel insurance professionals throughout the purchase process and on your trip. Even our claims process was created with customers in mind. At Seven Corners, our promise of customer service doesn’t end just because your trip does.”

Get Away USA is available now for domestic travelers and can be purchased on the Get Away USA quote page. To learn more about Seven Corners’ offerings, or how their trip protection products continue to address the impacts of the pandemic, visit their specific coronavirus page.
