Carmel Arts Council’s Art in the Garden to feature local artist Scott Osborne

After a long shutdown brought about by the global pandemic, the Carmel Arts Council (CAC) announces its first event of the year – Carmel Arts Council presents: Art in the Garden with Carmel-born and based artist Scott Osborne.

Osborne will set up shop and work with clay in the garden by The World’s Smallest Children’s Art Gallery from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 10. (Photo provided)

In 2020, Donna Tutwiler, past Carmel Arts Council President and now CAC’s Gallery Coordinator, created Art in the Garden. CAC says it believes that encouraging children in the Arts is necessary for their educational development. Other passionate members include Barb Hammer, who is co-chairman with Mary Jane Roth, as well as committee members Robin Spyker, Mary Harshbarger, and Linda Williams.

This year, CAC will feature “Children’s Table,” giving kids a hands-on experience with the artists.

Osborne will set up shop and work with clay in the garden by The World’s Smallest Children’s Art Gallery from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 10 during Meet Me on Main, sponsored by Allied Solutions. As an interactive event, visiting children will have the opportunity to join in on the fun and work with clay at the Children’s Table.

Safety measures will be implemented with masks, physical distancing, and frequent cleanings. The gallery, located at 40 W. Main St., in the heart of the Carmel Arts & Design District, showcases student art throughout the year on a rotating basis among local schools. Admission is free and hours vary.
