Carmel resident Emmanuel Carter is the host of a new preschool show on Nickelodeon’s interactive learning channel, Noggin.

Carter

The show, Noggin Knows, has Carter as the fun-loving teacher who uses dancing and singing to get preschoolers up and moving, while they are learning in a classroom that includes some of their favorite characters like Molly from Bubble Guppies, Rubble and Skye from Paw Patrol, and Santiago from Santiago of the Seas.

2020 was a rough year for everyone, including hard-working parents who suddenly found themselves in the unexpected role of teacher, and not enough hours in the day. Noggin Knows was created to be an educational supplement to regular learning, and Carter, the father of two young children, understood the importance of a quality educational show for children that engages them. His love of learning fills his classroom, known as the nook, with opportunities for kids to answer questions, dance, and sing along with Carter and some of their favorite Nickelodeon characters.

Carter is a lifelong resident of Indiana. Staying true to his vision, he tuned out everyone who told him that it could not be done from the Midwest and continued to pursue his dream of acting and filmmaking from his home state. The result? One of the world’s largest producers of entertainment content, ViacomCBS, chose him to be the host of Noggin Knows, and came to Indianapolis to film.

After his audition, Carter was also given the opportunity to write all the music he would be performing during the episodes. A proponent of utilizing local talent whenever possible, he teamed up with Indianapolis dancer and music producer, Austin “Sirlimitless” Day, to produce the show’s upbeat music that will have you on your feet and dancing with your kids and singing along with them to the catchy lyrics.

Carter has persevered in his journey and brought success to Indiana instead of having to go to Hollywood or Atlanta or other popular film locations to get it – and he was able to accomplish this during a pandemic. Even outside his Noggin Knows classroom, Carter is teaching everyone to close their eyes and ears to the negativity that tells them something cannot be done, and instead to believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their dreams, no matter where they live.
