Bringing historic Nutcracker to a whole new generation of audiences

Reporter photos by Megan Poteet

Last weekend, the Ballet Theare of Carmel Academic (BTCA) staged a version of The Nutcracker that harkened by to the original fairy tale. Featuring backdrops and costumes from Karl Kauffman, the founding artistic director of Indianapolis Ballet Theatre and the Lexington Ballet, the production told the story as though the fantasy were real rather than a dream. Performances took place at the STAR Bank Performing Arts Center in Zionsville. Thanks to the generosity of our friends at BTCA, The Reporter’s own Megan Poteet and her family were able to enjoy the show and bring you these photos.
