The Noblesville Diversity Coalition (NDC) and Faith Community Church will engage in a meaningful collaboration aimed at breaking the silence around mental health. Together, they will play host to a Community Conversation on Mental Health at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Noblesville City Hall, creating space for open, honest dialogue and connection within the community.
Mental health challenges affect nearly every family in America. Approximately one in five Americans will experience a mental health issue in any given year, with young people facing some of the highest prevalence rates. Yet, despite the widespread nature of these struggles, stigma, fear, and misinformation often prevent individuals from speaking openly and seeking help.
“The conversation around mental health has too often been overlooked – especially in faith communities,” said Patrick Propst, Pastor at Faith Community. “It’s time to elevate the dialogue and support each other in a more compassionate, understanding, and informed way.”
The Community Conversation format is designed to be simple, accessible, and impactful. Groups of five to seven participants come together to share personal experiences, perspectives, and ideas around a common theme. These conversations help build trust, expand understanding, and create a shared sense of insight and belonging.
This event serves as a precursor to Faith Community Church’s popular and quirky Holy Pig Drop, an annual celebration that combines great food, community connection, and fun fundraising. This year’s Holy Pig Drop, set for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Dillon Park, 6001 Edenshall Lane, Noblesville, will raise awareness and funds to help reduce the stigma around addiction, depression, suicide, and related issues – offering real hope and resources to those in need. “We believe that conversations can be transformative,” NDC Board President Dana Randall said. “By engaging openly and with empathy, we can create a more resilient and caring Noblesville.”
The Noblesville Diversity Coalition and Faith Community Church invite all community members to join this important conversation and event. Together, events like this can build a more supportive, mentally healthy future for all.
