Boys tennis: Carmel wins regional, Tigers in final, HSE’s Meyer and Parker win doubles sectional

The Carmel boys tennis team defeated West Lafayette 5-0 to win the Kokomo regional on Wednesday.
This is the ninth consecutive regional championship for the No. 1-ranked Greyhounds and the 16th overall. Carmel will now advance to the Culver Academies semi-state, where it will play Penn on Saturday for the championship and a trip to the state finals.
Down at the North Central regional, Fishers advanced to the championship there by beating Lawrence North 4-1. Winners for the Tigers were No. 2 singles Marcus Luke 6-0, 6-1; No. 3 singles William White 6-0, 6-0; No. 1 doubles Drew Dixon and Peter Hallam 6-0, 6-4 and No. 2 doubles Sam Barrett and Zachary McEldowney 6-0, 6-0.
Fishers will play North Central at 4:30 p.m. today for the regional championship.
Meanwhile, the Hamilton Southeastern No. 1 doubles team of Matt Meyer and Matthew Parker won the North Central doubles sectional on Wednesday. The Royals duo beat the team from Heritage Christian 6-4, 6-2.
Meyer and Parker will next play at the Fishers doubles regional on Oct. 13.
