Boys soccer sectionals: Tigers advance to sectional semi-finals

It was a Mudsock match-up that opened play at the Class 3A Noblesville sectional Monday.
No. 1-ranked Fishers took on No. 11 Hamilton Southeastern to begin sectional competition, and the Tigers won 3-1.
Noah Reinhart scored Fishers’ first goal during the game’s seventh minute, making a shot from the top of the goalkeeper box. The Tigers held the 1-0 lead through halftime and a lenghty lightning delay.
Fishers wasted no time once the game resumed, as Keiji Nakamae sent an angled shot into the net just 45 seconds into the second half. Sam Hevesy got the Tigers’ third goal in the 54th minute as he kicked in a shot from just outside the net. Caleb Hernandez had two assists.
The Royals scored their goal with 9:53 left when Noah Link kicked the ball in from the middle of the goal box.
Fishers is 14-0-2 and plays Muncie Central today in the first semi-final game. Southeastern finished its season 10-5-2.

Sectional host and No. 14-ranked Westfield dropped a 3-1 first-round game to No. 7-ranked Zionsville on Monday.
The Shamrocks finished their season 10-5-2.

Hamilton Heights fell to Brebeuf Jesuit 3-1 in first-round play at the Class 2A Guerin Catholic sectional on Monday.
The Huskies finished their season with a 7-9-1 record.
