The Noblesville boys soccer team ran its win streak to six on Thursday, finishing the regular season with a 1-0 win over Hoosier Crossroads Conference opponent Brownsburg.
The Millers played with coach Ken Dollaske called “the best half of soccer of the season” in the game’s first half, but had to settle for a 0-0 tie with the Class 3A No. 13 Bulldogs at halftime. The game seemed destined to end in a tie, but freshmen Spencer Holland and Palmer Ault came through in the game’s 77th minute: Holland slid a pass to Palmer, who beat two defenders and the goalkeeper to put the ball in the net.
“They’re both freshmen, but they’re playing beyond their years at this point,” said Dollaske. “They’ve been playing together at club for quite some time. They just know each other. It’s just instilled in them that they know where each other’s going to be. It’s nice to have that connection and it worked out for us.”
Noblesville’s goalkeeper duo of Adam Carter and Josh Lewis kept the clean sheet.
The Millers finished HCC play at 4-3, and took third in the conference. Overall, Noblesville is 10-5-1 and will play Pendleton Heights in the first round of the Hamilton Southeastern sectional on Monday.

Sheridan won its Senior Night game on Thursday, beating Benton Central 2-0.

Sheridan will host Anderson Prep Saturday morning.
