Boys soccer: Millers & Royals end it with a tie, Carmel takes down Westfield

Two undefeated Hamilton County boys soccer teams stayed undefeated after playing each other Thursday night.

Class 3A No. 2 Noblesville hosted 3A No. 4 Hamilton Southeastern at Hallmark Orthodontics Soccer Complex, and the teams finished their Hoosier Crossroads Conference game in a 1-1 tie. The Millers led 1-0 at halftime; Ben Hewitt scored the goal with Vinny Howard making the assist.

But the Royals came back late in the game to get the tie. Cade Joniec put the ball in the net, with Gavin Boyle making the assist.

Noblesville goalkeeper Alex Eberhart made four saves and Southeastern goalkeeper Cam Joniec had three saves.

Both teams are 3-0-3 in the conference with one more HCC game left to play. The Millers are 7-0-6 and host Carmel on Tuesday, while the Royals are 7-0-5 overall and host Perry Meridian Saturday morning.

Carmel, the No. 12 team in 3A, won a 3-1 game Thursday at 3A No. 7 Westfield.

Stats were not available at press time. The Greyhounds are 3-3-2 and host Homestead on Saturday afternoon. The Shamrocks are 4-2-3 and host East Central Saturday morning.
