Blackhawks fall to Taylor

Sheridan saw its season come to an end on Friday, as the Blackhawks lost a tough semi-final game to Taylor 52-50 at Class 2A Sectional 39 at Blackford.
Sheridan trailed 14-8 after the first quarter, but the Blackhawks the Titans in the second period, as each team scored 16 points. Ethan Moistner scored 17 points in the first half, including five 3-pointers, helping to keep Sheridan within 30-24 at halftime.
The ‘Hawks cut into Taylor’s lead in the third quarter, getting within 44-41 by the end of the period. Corbin Murray added nine points, while Kyle Eden scored six. Sheridan battled to the final buzzer, but the Titans were able to hold on.
Moistner finished the game with 18 points, while Eden scored 13 points and handed out seven assists. Murray totaled 10 points. Silas DeVaney led the rebounds with seven.
The Blackhawks finished their season with a 12-11 record.
