Blackhawks fall to Mounties, 58-52

Sheridan’s girls basketball team dropped a 58-52 game to Southmont Wednesday at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Blackhawks had a nice start against the Mounties, leading 10-5 after the first quarter. Kenzie Garner scored four points during that period. Southmont came back to tie the game at 27-27 by halftime, pouring in 22 points in the second quarter. Riley Reed helped keep Sheridan in it with seven points during the quarter.
The Mounties led 41-39 after three periods and added another 17 points in the fourth to get the win. Garner led the ‘Hawks with 12 points, while Reed scored nine. Eight different Sheridan players scored.
The Blackhawks are 12-5 and finish their regular and Hoosier Heartland Conference seasons Friday by hosting Taylor in a girls-boys doubleheader.
