The Sheridan girls basketball team put together a fantastic defensive effort at Eastern on Friday, rolling past the Comets 54-20 in a Hoosier Heartland Conference game.
The Blackhawks began their ninth straight victory with a 14-3 first quarter. Cecilia Timme scored six of those points. Sheridan led 29-9 at halftime, with Kenzie Garner adding six points. Garner poured in another seven points in the third period, which finished with the ‘Hawks ahead 45-15. Sheridan never allowed Eastern more than six points in a quarter.
Garner finished with 19 points, while Timme scored 11. Garner also had nine rebounds and six assists, with Timme making five steals. Mac Smith pulled five rebounds and Nova Cross had five steals and four assists.
Sheridan is 3-1 in conference play and 9-2 overall. The Blackhawks travel to Lebanon Tuesday.
