The Sheridan girls basketball team defended its Tri Tournament championship on Friday.
The Blackhawks held off a fourth-quarter comeback by the host Titans in the championship game, eventually winning 40-38. Sheridan led 9-7 after the first quarter and 25-17 at halftime.
Audrey Reed led the ‘Hawks with 18 points, while Jillian O’Flaherty scored 14, including four 3-pointers. Nixon Williams grabbed six rebounds.
In the semi-finals, Sheridan took care of Daleville 41-26. The Blackhawks held a 22-9 advantage at halftime. Reed scored 24 points.
Williams had seven rebounds, with Reed collecting six and Allie Delph getting five. Williams made six steals and Reed had four steals.
Sheridan is now 12-4 for the season and hosts Tipton on Thursday.
