Hamilton Heights swept Elwood last Saturday in both games of a doubleheader.
The Huskies won the first game 9-1. Heights steadily built a lead throughout the contest, going up 2-0 after the first inning. P.J. Wright singled in Nick Hulen for the first run, then Logan Hickman’s single brought Wright home.
Luke Davis led off the fourth inning with a double and was immediately sent home by Cohen Boyd’s center field hit. In the fifth inning, Hickman scored on a wild pitch, then Levi Chandler got home on Boyd’s RBI groundout.
The Huskies sprinted to the finish line with four runs in the sixth inning. Wright sent a two-RBI hit into center field, bringing in Hulen and Josh Newton. Wright scored when Kyle Michael hit a sacrifice fly, then Hickman got home after Davis reached on an error.
Hulen, Wright, Hickman and Boyd all had two hits. Owen Hughes went six innings for the win, striking out 11 against only three hits. Owen Robey struck out the seventh-inning side in relief.
Heights cruised through the second game, winning 11-0 in five innings. The Huskies scored five runs in the second inning and put up three in both the third and fourth innings.
Heights totaled 10 hits, including two each from Davis, Dillon Pitts and Jackson Mikesell. Pitts and Mikesell both drove in two runs. Cy Mason got the pitching win.
The Huskies are 4-7. Heights plays at Noblesville Monday, then begins a Hoosier Conference series with Logansport on Tuesday, hosting the Berries that day before traveling to Logansport on Wednesday. The Huskies host Lawrence Central on Thursday, then play a doubleheader at Daleville Saturday.

Carmel also swept a doubleheader last Saturday over Fort Wayne Carroll.
The Greyhounds won the first game 13-2 in five innings. Carmel scored two runs in the first inning, then added three runs in the second inning. The ‘Hounds put up five runs in the third and three more in the fourth.
Jay Stein was 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in four runs and scoring four more. Carson Mace, Gabe Mathison, Parker Heaney and Max Walkey all had two hits, with Walkey scoring three runs. Kane Hare scored two runs. Evan Vogt went four innings for the win, striking out six. Mathison pitched a perfect fifth inning in relief.
Carmel won the second game 8-1. Playing as the visitors, the ‘Hounds scored two runs in the first inning; Mathison and Mace got home after Anthony Back reached on an error. In the third inning, Heaney singled in Mace and Stein, then Mathison scored on Back’s RBI groundout to give Carmel a 5-0 lead.
Jalen Brown singled in Walkey for a sixth-inning run. Back finished the game with a two-run double in the seventh inning, bringing home Stein and Mace.
Jackson Harris hit a double. Cole Caldwell got the pitching win.
Carmel is 8-6 and plays Thursday at Center Grove. The ‘Hounds host Avon Friday and travel to Zionsville on Saturday.

Hamilton Southeastern came back to beat Lapel 8-6 last Saturday at Ken Seitz Field.
The Royals started with four runs in the fourth inning. Cy Cole singled in Deacon Lewis and Jackson Bixler for the first two runs, then Trey McManama doubled in Michael Hoog and Cole.
The Bulldogs put up six runs in the top of the fifth inning, but Southeastern got the lead back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Clark Bucher doubled in Bixler and Maddux Bach, then Ty Earlewine scored on a wild pitch. Kian Kelly scored in the sixth inning when Hoog drew a bases-loaded walk.
Isaiah Hamilton also hit a double, while Cole had two hits. Hoog got the win in relief, while starter Josh Lesniewski pitched 4.1 innings with six strikeouts.
The Royals are 5-10 and play the Mudsock series this week, welcoming Fishers on Wednesday and playing at the Tigers’ field on Thursday. Southeastern plays a doubleheader at Bloomington North on Saturday.

University finished as runner-up at its own Trailblazer Classic, which was played at Kokomo Municipal Stadium last Saturday.
The Blazers beat Blackford 13-3 in five innings in their opener. University scored in every inning, with Charlie Ranek going 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double. Cooper Cammack hit an RBI triple in the third inning, while Ryan Castetter hit a triple while going 3-for-3 and driving in three runs.
Cooper Burnett, Ranek, Oliver Kingery and Sterling Davis all hit one double. Finn Steiner had three RBIs, while Cammack, Ranek and Kingery all had two RBIs. Caleb Stocker went four innings for the win, striking out six.
University fell to Kokomo in the championship game, 6-5 in 11 innings. The Wildkats scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Trailblazers got two runs back in the top of the second: Griffin Wright led off with a double, then scored on an error. Quinn Green singled in Kingery for the second run.
Wright batted in Cammack with a third-inning base hit. A fourth-inning RBI triple gave Kokomo a 5-3 lead, but Burnett scored on an error in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 5-4.
Stocker scored in the sixth inning to tie the game at 5-5. The score stayed tied until the bottom of the 11th inning, when the Wildkats scored for the walk-off win.
Cammack hit a triple, while Wright and Green both had two hits. Cam Rady pitched four innings and struck out six, with Cammack throwing 4.1 innings and striking out five.
University is 7-7 and plays at Lapel on Tuesday. The Blazers then host Cardinal Ritter on Thursday and play at Seton Catholic on Friday.
