Balanced Royals cruise past Anderson

Hamilton Southeastern took the phrase “share the wealth” to new heights on Saturday during the Royals’ 80-59 win at Anderson.
Southeastern got off to a solid start, leading 20-7 after the first quarter. Royals coach Brian Satterfield said his team “came out and got off to a good start to bounce back” from Friday night’s loss to Westfield. The Royals held a 32-21 halftime advantage, then outscored the Indians in each of the next two periods, pouring in 27 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Three HSE players scored in double figures: Vinny Buccilla led the way with 19 points, Alex Totton drained four 3-pointers on his way to 17 points and Dalton Retzner added 11 points. Eleven different players scored.
Buccilla pulled seven rebounds, Mohammed Awad collected six and Sam Jacobs had five. But here’s the biggest stat of the game: Southeastern had 27 assists on 29 baskets – that means 93 percent of the Royals’ baskets were assisted. Buccilla handed out seven assists, Jason Stutz had five, while Isaac Bowman and Jacobs both dished out four. Satterfield credited his team with having great ball movement in the game.
Southeastern is 5-5 for the season and travels to Zionsville Friday for a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
