Actors Theatre of Indiana (ATI) held its first gala last Thursday, June 5, at Hotel Carmichael in Carmel to celebrate its 20th anniversary and to raise money for the ATI endowment fund.
The gala featured a live auction, silent auction, and “Raise the Paddle.” There was also a live performance from ATI actors and members of the Indianapolis Arts Chorale. The performance included selections from ATI’s upcoming production, Titanic: The Musical. The musical will be on stage Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 at the Payne and Mencias Palladium in Carmel.
The hosts for the night and for the live auction were Randy Sorrell and Tim Griffin. Some of the live auction items included an Indiana University football signed by head coach Curt Cignetti, a Randy Sorrell oil painting, and a Fleddermann von Rieste watch.
Brian and Maggie Kelly of the ATI Honorary Committee offered to match the first $2,500 raised for the endowment fund.
The evening concluded with the launch of ATI’s Ovation Society, a membership opportunity to continue fundraising efforts that will help support the future of the theatre.
