Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel one of five heart hospitals in U.S. with highest quality & patient experience scores

Only five heart hospitals earned five-star ratings for both overall hospital quality and patient experience.

Becker’s compared the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, which captures patients’ experiences during a recent hospital stay, with the agency’s Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating, which factors mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience, and timely and effective care.

In total, 61 hospitals earned five-star ratings in both measures, but only five are dedicated heart hospitals.

• The Heart Hospital Baylor Denton (Texas)
• Oklahoma Heart Hospital South (Oklahoma City)
