Car enthusiasts from across the Midwest are expected to satisfy their need for automotive speed and the beauty of cars of all types during the 2021 Artomobilia presented by Gator Motorsports. Artomobilia, founded in 2008, anchors a full weekend of automotive related events and is hosted on the streets of the Carmel Arts & Design District from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28.
On a weekend filled with beautiful classic cars brought in by enthusiasts and collectors, one car will stand out – the $2.5 million Lotus Evija hypercar, a 2,000 horsepower all-electric supercar; the first of its kind, from the legendary British sports car company.
“We are thrilled to be able to showcase this state-of-the-art, all-electric hypercar on the streets of Carmel, a city where many residents continue to embrace electric vehicles,” said John Leonard, event director. “With the rescheduling of last year’s event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are really looking forward to welcoming the Indianapolis automotive community back to the beautiful Arts & Design District.”
An estimated 500-plus collector cars will line the streets of the District, bringing together in one event original, period-correct cars, including Supercars, Exotics, Sports Cars, Classics, Racers, Historically Preserved and more. Admission is free and open to the public.
There are plenty of free parking spaces in and around the Arts & Design District. If you’re driving, please note that portions of Main Street and Range Line Road will be closed during the event. Main Street will be closed between 3rd Avenue SW and 1st Avenue East. Range Line Road will be closed from Elm Street to Smoky Row. The northern closure of Range Line Road may shift depending on the volume of exhibitors participating.
