Arrowood, Roberson to speak Thursday on the state of Heights, Sheridan schools

The Northern Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce (NHCCC) is pleased to share that Hamilton Heights School Corporation Superintendent Dr. Derek Arrowood and Sheridan Community Schools Superintendent Mary Roberson will be the featured guests at its luncheon meeting this Thursday, Oct. 22.

Roberson

Arrowood

Dr. Arrowood will be joined by Heights Middle Schools teacher Jeff Beechler and several of his students to introduce guests to the new student-run Husky Broadcast Network (HBN).

Roberson will be joined by elementary and high school students to share Sheridan’s innovative S.E.L. mindfulness program.

In addition, these district leaders of the county’s northernmost communities school districts may have a few minutes to share a quick overview on how they are keeping school buildings open and providing meaningful learning and impactful lessons in these unprecedented times.

Event organizers said they are mindful of the times and will provide a safe and sanitary meeting space and practice physical distancing etiquette. The meeting will take place in the STEM/Outdoor classroom at the new Hamilton Heights Middle School (formerly the elementary school) at 25150 State Road 19, Arcadia.

Chamber members enter from 256th Street and park in the north parking lot and enter the back, southwest doors. Follow the sidewalk around the west side of the building and turn left. Heights Middle School students will greet attendees in the parking lot and guide them into the building and to the meeting location.

Cost is $15 for members and $18 for non-members. To make your reservation or for more information, call (317) 984-4079 or email chamber@northernhamiltoncountychamber.com.
