Antoinette Langfeld Substalae, 90, Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at IU Health Fishers. She was born on June 5, 1935, to Louis and Rose Langfeld in Chicago, Ill.
Antoinette was a college-educated woman, graduating from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee in 1957. She loved architecture and would give river tours of Chicago architecture. Antoinette married Jim Substalae in 1967 and was incredibly supportive of their family. She played the violin for many years and also enjoyed doing needlepoint. Antoinette loved bright colored flowers, and loved sunbathing in the sunshine.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Laura & John Gunderman; son, Joseph Substalae; and her grandsons, Benjamin Substalae and Adam Substalae. She was loved and cared for by her angel, Ashley Gunderman.
In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Substalae.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, with services at noon, on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville at the funeral home. Burial will be at noon (CST) on Saturday, December 20 in All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road in Des Plaines, Ill.
