Amy Jolene Hatleli

February 28, 1964 – September 28, 2026

Amy Jolene Hatleli, 62, passed away on September 28, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and dedicated nurse, Amy believed her purpose in life was to heal and help the people around her.

Amy was a skilled and compassionate nurse who devoted herself to the people she cared for. Her desire to help others extended far beyond her work. Whether someone needed comfort, support, or a little help through a difficult time, Amy wanted to do whatever she could. Being there for others mattered greatly to her, and she gave so much of herself to those around her.

Her four children, Megan, Shelby, John, and Matthew, were at the heart of her life. She loved them deeply and always wanted to help them through whatever they faced. Being their mother meant everything to her. She was also a loving grandmother to her two grandchildren.

Amy was deeply loved by her friends. Her best friend, Teri Dunlavy, stood by her throughout her life, diagnosis, decline, and was there for her at the end of her life. Amy and her family are forever grateful for Teri’s love, presence, and support.

Amy loved her gardens and was well known for singing off-key while she worked in them. Her love of fairies and her notorious “rock thievery” were just as much a part of who she was and will be remembered with affection and a smile. She also loved to paint and generously shared her paintings with the people around her. Those gifts have become especially precious – something made by her hands that the people who loved her can hold on to.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Jean Hatleli. She is survived by her four children, Megan (William) Hunt, Shelby (Chad) Neal, John (Valeria) Carter, and Matthew Carter, her two grandchildren; and her siblings, Lance (Karen) Hatleli and Julie (Jamie) Stapleton.

Her family will miss her most in the everyday moments – when there is something to tell her, something they wish they could share, or simply a reason to pick up the phone. They will treasure her paintings, think of her when they see a fairy among the flowers, and wish they could hear her singing in the garden one more time.

Above all, her children and grandchildren will miss their mom and grandmother and the endless love she gave them.

Per Amy’s request, a celebration of life will be held privately. She also stated that her cheating ex-husband is not invited.
