Indiana Swimming’s Age Group State championship began Friday at the IU Natatorium.
Carmel Swim Club is hosting the meet, and the club also had a successful day by winning nine events. Two swimmers were victorious in two events: Lexie Ward took the Girls 11-12 100 freestyle and 400 freestyle races, while Carter Lancaster was first in the Boys 11-12 200 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.
Other Carmel winners were Meghan Christman in the Girls 13-14 100 free, Kayden Lancaster in the Boys 13-14 100 free, AJ Robertson in the Boys 13-14 200 butterfly, the Girls 13-14 400 medley relay team of Berit Berglund, Christman, Parker Kurzawa and Vivian Wilson, and the Boys 13-14 400 medley relay team of Nicholas Plumb, KJ Sweeney, AJ Robertson and Kayden Lancaster).
Southeastern Swim Club finished first in three events. Avery Hannon won two of them, taking the Girls 10 and Under 100 free and 200 individual medley, while Molly Robinson was first in the Girls 13-14 100 breaststroke.
Jo Jo Ramey of the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers won the Girls 13-14 800 free.
