In Indiana’s current tax system, property taxes are crucial to the well-being of communities, but many older Hoosiers struggle to afford them. This is especially true when they are dealing with property tax increases on top of other rising monthly expenses like utilities, groceries, and health care.
Recent laws passed by the Indiana General Assembly aim to provide some relief. Join AARP Indiana, the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC), and Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (AIM), for a virtual event at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, to help break down how communities will be impacted.
Participants will include:
- Larry DeBoer, Emeritus Professor, Agricultural Economics at Purdue University
- Jamie Bolser, Director of Government Affairs, AIC
- Campbell Ricci, Policy and Financial Resources Director, AIM
