THE REPORTER

The Noblesville Unified Track team made history last Saturday.

The Millers won the Franklin Central sectional, triumphing in a close meet for its first sectional title since 2016. Noblesville scored 115 points, with Perry Meridian and Pendleton Heights tying for second place by scoring 110 each. All three schools will advance to the Bedford North Lawrence regional this Saturday.

The Millers won three sectionals in a row in 2014, 2015 and 2016, so this is Noblesville’s fourth Unified Track sectional title. This makes the Millers the first school to win four sectional championships in the sport.

Fishers placed sixth with 100 points and Hamilton Southeastern was eighth with 95.5 points. The Tigers’ Akeem Schooley won two events, the 100 dash and long jump.

Up at West Lafayette, Westfield finished in third place with 105 points, behind Lafayette Jefferson’s 127 and Western’s 110. All three schools will compete this Saturday at the Kokomo regional.

Carmel place fifth with 103 points and Hamilton Heights was ninth with 86 points
