Richard Albert Hall

January 10, 1947 – March 28, 2023

Richard Albert Hall of Carmel passed away on March 28, 2023, at Riverwalk in Noblesville. He was 76.

Richard was born on January 10, 1947, in Minneapolis to Albert and Ilene (Thompson) Hall. The Hall family moved to Indianapolis several years later. Richard graduated from North Central High School in 1966.

Richard served our country as a member of the United States Army, spending a year overseas in South Korea. After active duty, he remained on the Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1972. During this time, he met Deborah Hooper, a student at Ball State University. The two were married on June 27, 1970, in Deborah’s hometown of La Porte, Ind., and enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

Richard founded a paint company, Hall’s Property Service, in 1976. He also earned a computer science degree from IUPUI. Richard was an avid sports fan, especially of the Indianapolis Colts and the Butler Bulldogs. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Woodland Country Club in Carmel for several years.

Richard was a wonderful and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family cherishes memories of traveling all across the country, including annual trips to Walt Disney World. Some of the best memories were summer Saturdays on the White River boating with close friends. He had a fun-loving personality and was kind and loyal to everyone he met. Richard left a lasting impact on his family and friends and will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Hall of Carmel; sons, Richie Hall of Carmel and Corey (Amanda) Hall of Westfield; sisters, Pam (Scott) Sedberry of Spring, Texas, and Joan Kelly of Indianapolis; brother, Dan Hall of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brayden, Elizabeth, Corban, Rita, Gracie, Paityn, Braxton, Zayden, and Lawson; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend Mark (Marilyn) Kreger of Indianapolis.

He was pre-deceased by his parents; brother, Randy Hall; and niece, Moli Hall.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel. Pastor Jon Lowe with North Circle Church of Westfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel, with military honors performed by the U.S. Army, assisted by the Lapel American Legion Post 212.
