The Royals began by beating Maine West 7-2 last Friday. Southeastern scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning: Griffen Haas led off with a home run into center field. Later, Michael Hoog doubled, then got sent home by Colin Goley.
The Royals added two more runs in the third inning. Clayton Wilke led off with a single, then was immediately sent home by Ty Bradle’s triple. Bradle scored after Haas smacked a base hit.
Wilke gave Southeastern another two runs in the fourth inning, as he homered into center field. Maddux Bach also scored, and he would also get a sixth-inning run when he scored on a passed ball.
Bradle, Wilke and Haas all had two hits, with Bradle cracking a double. He also got the pitching win, with 10 strikeouts in four and a third innings.

In their second Friday game, the Royals fell to Hartselle 17-4. Southeastern had three players hit solo home runs: Chugga Rosario, Harrison Dilts and Bradle.

On Saturday, Southeastern dropped its first game of the day to Watkins Memorial 12-10. The Royals scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning: Bradle hit a home run, then Cole Earlewine stole home plate.
But Watkins scored four runs in the top of the second inning and held the lead from there. Southeastern battled for the entire game; the Royals got a run back in the second when Wilke singled in Hoog.
Southeastern scored at least one run in each of the last four innings. Bach got home on Wilke’s sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. The Royals added three runs in the fifth inning: Earlewine scored after Dilts drew a bases-loaded walk, then Haas and Rosario were scored on Nolan Colbert’s double.
That brought HSE within 8-7, but Watkins scored three runs in the top of the sixth. Again, the Royals got a run back in the sixth inning: Bradle scored when Earlewine reached on error.
Watkins added another run in the top of the seventh to lead 12-8. Bradle smacked a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, also scoring Colbert, but Watkins held on for the win.
Bradle finished the game 3-for-5 at the plate, with two home runs and a double. Colbert hit two doubles and Hoog had one.

Southeastern finished its trip with a 10-5 win over Siegel. The Royals got on the board in the second inning: Colbert hit a solo homer, then Dilts scored when Wilke reached on error.
Colbert smacked another home run in the third inning, this one scoring three runs. Haas and Rosario were also sent home. Dilts scored again later in the inning on a balk.
In the fourth inning, Colbert stepped up again, with his third homer of the night. That home run also brought in three runs, with Bradle and Haas getting home. Haas completed the scoring in the fifth inning by batting in Wilke.
Colbert totaled seven RBIs for the game. Alex Billman also hit a double. Brandon Strawmeyer got the pitching win, with four strikeouts in four innings.
The Royals are 2-3 and begin Hoosier Crossroads Conference play today at Brownsburg.
