Joyce Jean (McGee) Kirkpatrick

May 17, 1945 – March 12, 2023

Our family’s loving matriarch, Joyce Jean (McGee) Kirkpatrick, gained her true angel wings on March 12, 2023. She spent her last hours surrounded by her whole family whom she loved tremendously.

Joyce’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her love understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here with us.

Joyce was born to Johnnie and Eileen McGee on May 17, 1945, in Noblesville, and is joining them in the Kingdom of Heaven. She is survived by her younger siblings, and best friends, Diane Geren, Vickie Densham, and Gary McGee. Joyce married and is survived by her husband, John Kirkpatrick, May 22, 1976.

Joyce retired from her many years working for the Department of Education in 2001 to start her most important and joyful years of caring for her grandchildren. The “Best Grandma in the world,” spoken by many, was so patient, loving, caring, selfless, and compassionate, helping to raise three daughters, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She maintained an unwavering faith in God as part of the Nazarene Church in Noblesville for 40 years.

Joyce is survived by daughters, Kristina (Brett) Bowman, Erika (Chris) Thomas, and Leslie (JJ) Harris; grandchildren, Kayla (Casey Hunter) Bowman, Tyler (Adeline Agee) Harris, Kendal Bowman, Gage Bowman, Brayden Harris, Elijah Thomas, Allie Harris, and Oliver Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Aria Hunter and Farrah Hunter.

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” – Exodus 23:20

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with services at 7 p.m., on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville.
