James Martin Richert, 75, Carmel, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on July 14, 1947, to Howard and Catherine (Horner) Richert in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked as an engineer for Liberty Mutual. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he enjoyed helping with the fish fries. Jim volunteered at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Grace Meals. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his family, especially to Alaska, Hawaii, and National Parks. Jim also enjoyed playing cards with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Richert, whom he married on March 28, 1968; daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Boyl and Renee (Charlie) Foushi; grandchildren, Zachary Fuller, Kaleb Boyl, and Mark Fuller; and his sister, June (Joe) Fischerkeller.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, David Richert and Thomas Richert.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield.
