Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, a resident of 16016 Gaston Court in Noblesville returned home to find smoke coming from an upstairs bedroom. The homeowner was able to safely exit the house and call 911. Fire and EMS units were dispatched by the Hamilton County Dispatch Center.

Upon arrival, crews could see smoke and fire emanating from the upstairs bedroom. Crews were able to quickly enter the home where they found fire had spread from the bedroom and into the attic space. The fire was marked under control a short time later. There were not any injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) was assisted by the Carmel Fire Department and the Noblesville Police Department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. NFD reminds residents to sleep with their bedroom doors closed, which can reduce exposure to toxic smoke and help limit the spread of flames.
