Westfield finished up Hoosier Crossroads Conference play on a winning note Friday, taking care of Franklin Central 63-52 in an away game.
The Flashes led 18-16 after one quarter. Alex Romack kept the Shamrocks in it with 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Westfield pulled ahead 31-25 by halftime, with Seth LaRavia hitting two triples.
The Shamrocks went to the free-throw line often in the third quarter, and made 8 of 8 in that period, which helped to keep them ahead 43-36. Romack and Trey Buchanan each made four foul shots. It was Sam Bishop’s turn in the fourth quarter, as he went a perfect 10 of 10 from the line. Buchanan added six points in that period to help secure Westfield’s win.
Romack finished the game with 22 points. Bishop scored 16, while Buchanan had 14. LaRavia drained three 3s for nine points, and Durante Morton had two points to complete the scoring.
The Shamrocks finished HCC play 3-4 and are 14-7 overall. Westfield plays at Frankfort on Tuesday for its regular-season finale.
