The University boys closed out a perfect Pioneer Academic Athletic Conference North Division slate with a 72-18 win over Anderson Preparatory Academy Friday night at The U Center.
Four Trailblazers scored in double figures as University won its 30th consecutive PAAC North Division game. Andre Ozlowski had a game-high 13 points. Seniors Seth Hogg and Kahmi Bracey had 12 points each and junior Rob Russell had 11.
University jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first 90 seconds of the game. Hogg scored off an assist from Sabien Cain then added a pair of foul shots. Russell converted off another Cain assist before Hogg stole the ball and passed ahead to Ozlowksi for a dunk. The Blazers scored the first 14 points of the game and led 18-2 at the end of the first quarter.
The Blazer lead quickly ballooned to 20 early in the second quarter and they ended the first half on a 10-0 run to take a 35-7 halftime lead. Another Ozlowski dunk with 5:50 left in the third quarter put University ahead 45-10 and started the running clock for the remainder of the contest.
Jackson Bledsoe and Cain contributed seven points each and Zien Bland had five as University improved to 12-1 on the season, with a perfect 4-0 PAAC North record.
Cain pulled down a team high eight rebounds with Ozlowksi nabbing seven boards and Hogg having five. Cain handed out six assists on the night.
The Blazers had 22 steals in the game. Hogg led with five thefts, Cain had four and Russell and Bryce Gray three each.
University will play three times next week. The Blazers are at Bishop Chatard on Tuesday, host Traders Point Christian Academy on Thursday and travel to Heritage Christian for a Saturday matinee. The Chatard and Traders Point games are makeups of postponements.
Anderson Prep is 0-14 on the season, 0-3 in PAAC North.
