Sheridan pulled away from Speedway in the third quarter, and that led the Blackhawks to their fourth straight win, a 51-40 victory Thursday night at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The game was tied at 11-11 after the first quarter, then the Sparkplugs jumped ahead 25-20 by halftime. But Sheridan dominated the third period, pouring in 26 points to take a 46-36 lead into the fourth quarter. The ‘Hawks then maintained that margin during the fourth period.
Kenzie Garner led Sheridan with 22 points and five rebounds. Chaney Smith added nine points and made three steals, while Ashley Webel scored eight points. Lilly Chesney, Nova Cross and Jacquellynne Bates all contributed four points to round out the scoring.
The Blackhawks are 9-8 and play Tuesday at Bethesda Christian.
