Sheridan’s girls basketball team got a big Senior Night victory on Thursday, beating Hoosier Heartland Conference opponent Tri-Central 45-32.
The Blackhawks led 14-9 after the first quarter, but the Trojans came back to tie the game by halftime at 18-18. Sheridan got back in the lead during the third period, which finished with the Hawks up 31-28. Sheridan then had a fantastic defensive fourth quarter, outscoring Tri-Central 12-4.
Kenzie Garner reached double-double status again, scoring 22 points and collecting 14 rebounds. Lilly Chesney added nine points, while Chaney Smith had eight points and four assists.
The Blackhawks improved to 2-3 in conference play and 8-8 overall. Sheridan will host Speedway next Thursday, Jan. 12.
