U.S. Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.), Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) applauded news that President Biden has signed their bipartisan Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act into law.

The legislation would require the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to identify areas where high rates of poor maternal health outcomes overlap with lack of access to broadband services in order to pinpoint where telehealth services can be most effective.
“Unfortunately, Indiana has one of the worst maternal mortality rates in the country,” Sen. Young said. “I’m glad the President has now signed our Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act into law to improve the lives of Hoosier mothers and families. This new law will identify where high maternal mortality rates coincide with lack of broadband services to help ensure these regions have access to the life-saving telehealth services that pregnant women need for better care.”
