Sheridan got a big win on its home floor Tuesday, beating Lebanon 36-34.
The Blackhawks had a strong defensive start, leading 8-2 after one quarter. The Tigers came back to go ahead 22-19 at halftime, but Sheridan got its defense going again in the third period, enabling it to take a 32-29 lead going into the fourth. The Blackhawks then hung on in a low-scoring fourth quarter to get the win.
Kenzie Garner reached double-double status, scoring 15 points and pulling 10 rebounds. Ashley Webel added five points, while Nova Cross, Jacquellynne Bates and Shelby Eaton all scored four points. Eaton collected five rebounds.
Sheridan is 5-7 and plays next Wednesday (Dec. 28) at the Alexandria Tournament. The Hawks play Seeger in the first round, then either Tri-Central or Alexandria in their second game.
