On Thursday, Dec. 1, the Fishers GOP Club held its Holiday Meeting and Annual Toy Drive with all participants receiving Fishers GOP T-shirts.

Hamilton County Republican Party Chairman Mario Massillamany was the guest speaker and shared insight on the 2022 general election, congratulated Fishers Republicans for winning every contested race, and gave insight on the path ahead as the GOP works to keep Hamilton County a Republican stronghold.

Massillamany champions the selection and preparation of candidates committed to the arduous work of running for office, building relationships with all Hamilton County residents who identify with Republican values and principles, and embracing and destigmatizing early voting opportunities.

After the talk, Tiffanie Ditlevson broke from tradition and announced the Fishers GOP Club planned to recognize their first-ever Woman and Man of the Year, Diane Eaton and Brad DeReamer.

Eaton is a Fishers resident, entrepreneur, owner of Balmoral House Event Center, and former Hamilton Southeastern school board member who founded Fishers One in March 2021. Under her direction and leadership, Fishers One is credited with orchestrating the election of four Fishers One-endorsed candidates into all four Hamilton Southeastern school board roles and ousting all four of the incumbent school board members by focusing on “a return to academic excellence.” As of December 2022, Fishers One has assisted in the election, re-election, caucusing and appointment of 11 Fishers One members and candidates into community leadership positions.

DeReamer is a Fishers resident and an elected City Councilman representing Fishers’ Northeast District. He is a true servant leader, serial entrepreneur, U.S. Army Veteran, and former Mayor of Greenfield. Over his distinguished career, he has blazed a trail of innovation, service, and true representation of his constituents and neighbors in Britton Falls. In his free time, he devoted his resources and talent to Fishers One, serving as a founding member. He also worked diligently with HSE school board trustee-elect Ben Orr’s campaign team. He recently confirmed he will not seek re-election to the Fishers City Council.

Both winners expressed gratitude for the recognition.

“I am honored to be selected as the first Fishers GOP Woman of the Year,” Eaton said. “I was surprised by the award and had no idea the club honored members, and more surprised to win. It has been such an honor to work with so many fabulous like-minded people in Fishers. The Fishers GOP Club and the Hamilton County Republican Party, under Chairman Mario Massillamany, are truly making a difference in the county. Be bold and courageous, and together we are making a difference!”

“Thank you very much for the acknowledgement tonight,” DeReamer said. “I enjoy helping others – I am in the time of my life where I have to give back for everything I have been given in my lifetime. I am very blessed to have a great wife that supports everything I do. Thanks again – and Sharon says thanks for the candy and crystal candy dish.”

At the end of the evening Sharon DeReamer expressed gratitude and sheer surprise for the thoughtful honoring of her husband and recognition of his decades of work. “I’m so proud of him,” she said.
