Fishers picked up its first win of the season Saturday afternoon, beating La Porte 70-55 at the Tiger Den.
The game was tied at 18-18 after one quarter, then the Slicers inched ahead 32-31 by halftime. Sophomore Jalen Haralson scored 10 points for Fishers in the first half, with Taden Metzger hitting three 3-pointers.
The Tigers fought their way to a 47-46 lead by the end of the third quarter, then pulled away in the fourth by outscoring La Porte 23-9. Haralson poured in 15 points in the fourth period.
Haralson led all scorers with 31 points. Metzger added a fourth 3-pointer in the second half, giving him 12 points for the game. Junior Keenan Garner added 10 points, going 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.
Fishers fell to Ben Davis in its opener 77-56, so the Tigers evened their record to 1-1 with the Saturday win. Fishers plays again Tuesday at Metropolitan.
