On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Carmel Christkindlmarkt will play host to its second annual Glühwein Gallop 5K Run/Walk, presented by the Tuxedo Brothers. This event is also sponsored by Java House, Winzerwald Winery and Bier Brewery.
“We are thrilled to have this fun and festive 5K at the Market again this year,” said Maria Murphy, CEO and Market Master of the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. “It was incredibly popular last year, and we cannot wait to see everyone back for a second race day this December. We are also grateful to partner with Tuxedo Brothers on it, as we know they’ll ensure participants have an incredible experience from start to finish.”
The Glühwein Gallop will start at 9 a.m. on Dec. 3. This 5K course will start and finish at the Christkindlmarkt, taking runners and walkers on a scenic route through Carmel.
In addition to the race, there will also be a costume contest, and prizes will be awarded to the judges’ favorite entries. Upon completing the race, those aged 21 and over will receive a ticket for a complimentary serving of Glühwein or beer, or complimentary hot chocolate. Participants who register by Nov. 27 will also receive a long-sleeve shirt, and the first 1,000 finishers will receive a commemorative medal.
