Hamilton Southeastern opened Hoosier Crossroads Conference play on Thursday at Franklin Central, winning 57-33.
The Royals jumped out to a 16-8 lead after the first quarter, then went up 30-16 at halftime. Southeastern, ranked No. 2 in the ICGSA Class 4A poll and No. 4 in the IBCA one-class poll, pulled further away in the third quarter, outscoring the Flashes 15-3 to take a 45-19 lead going into the fourth.
Riley Makalusky led the Southeastern scoring with 21 points. Kayla Stidham hit three 3-pointers on her way to 13 points, while Maya Makalusky added 10 points. Kennedy Holman pulled eight rebounds, followed by seven for Teegan Acres. Olivia Brown handed out four assists.
The Royals are 6-0 and host Brownsburg Tuesday in another HCC game.
