Hamilton County well-represented on All-State track & cross country teams

The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches announced its All-State teams on Wednesday.

Carmel’s Kole Mathison was named the Boys Class 4A runner of the year. Hamilton County had four other runners receive First Team All State honors: Carmel’s Tony Provenzano, Fishers’ Sam Quagliaroli, and Noblesville’s Asher Propst and Caden Click.

Class 4A Boys Honorable Mention runners included three from Carmel (Thomas Biltimier, Jack Capes and Charlie Leedke), two from Fishers (Austin Wilson and Tate Meaux), and Ash Caylor from Hamilton Southeastern.

Guerin Catholic’s Ethan Hines was named to the Class 3A Boys First Team, with his teammates Luke Moster and Jack Weber named Honorable Mention.

In the Class 4A Girls list, Hamilton Southeastern’s Maggie Powers was named to First Team All State. In the Honorable Mention category, six Noblesville runners earned places: Kennedy Applegate, Nadia Perez, Summer Rempe, Paige Hazelrigg, Ansley Applegate and Brooke Lahee. Carmel’s Jasmine Klopstad and Westfield’s Liz Smith were also named Honorable Mention.

Guerin Catholic’s Bridget Gallagher was named to the Class 3A Girls First Team, with the Golden Eagles’ Bailey Freese making Honorable Mention.

Lahee to run in Mid-East Championships

Noblesville’s Brooke Lahee was chosen to run on the 2022 Girls Indiana All Star Cross Country Team in Saturday’s Mid-East XC Championships, which takes place Saturday in Kettering, Ohio.

The meet features the best runners from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan. Westfield coach Whitney Blevins will serve as one of the Indiana coaches.
