See talented Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy perform ‘The Nutcracker’ next month

Experience the magic of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, a spectacular holiday tradition the whole family can enjoy, with the Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy.

Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. All performances will be held at the STAR Bank Performing Arts Center, 1000 Mulberry St., Zionsville.

Join Clara and her Nutcracker Prince on a magical Christmas Eve journey – from a joyous holiday party at the Stahlbaums, into an epic midnight battle between mice and toy soldiers, through the Kingdom of Snow, and into the enchanted Land of Sweets. Along the way you’ll meet all the ballet’s iconic characters including Godfather Drosselmeyer, the evil Mouse Queen, the beautiful Snow Queen, Mother Ginger and her Gingersnaps, and of course the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.

From the stunning costumes to the timeless music and breathtaking choreography, this is a Nutcracker experience you won’t soon forget.

This is a family-friendly production with plenty of pre- and post-show activities to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Children and adults alike will be thrilled to pick out a delicious treat at the Land of Sweets Bake Sale. Finishing your Christmas shopping will be easy as you browse the splendid Sugar Plum Boutique. It’s filled with handmade and specialty items – Nutcrackers of all shapes and sizes, decorated pointe shoes, ballerina ornaments, books, jewelry and more – for the dancer or Nutcracker enthusiast in your family.
