Westfield girls take care of Rushville

Westfield got back on the winning track Saturday afternoon, defeating Rushville 42-35 at The Rock.
The Shamrocks were in control of the first half, leading 16-9 after the first quarter and 21-11 at halftime. The Lions got back into the game in the third period, cutting Westfield’s lead to 27-24, but the ‘Rocks held on in the fourth.
Annabelle O’Hair led Westfield both in scoring with 10 points and on the boards with seven rebounds. Ava Henson grabbed seven rebounds as well, with Jade Shipley corralling five. Sophia Kreag helped out on defense with two blocked shots.
The Shamrocks are now 8-2 and travel to Carmel on Tuesday to play the Class 4A No. 1 Greyhounds.
