The Sheridan girls soccer team won the Hoosier Heartland Conference championship on Thursday, clinching the title by beating Taylor 10-0 in a home game.
The Blackhawks scored their first goal 12 minutes into the game when Kadence Voege put in a cross from Emma Alexander. Lilly Chesney added a goal minutes later, and Sheridan dominated from there, eventually leading 6-0 at halftime. The ‘Hawks scored four more goals in the second half.
Chesney and Mac Smith both got two goals, with Voege, Chaney Smith, Makalet Terry, Ji Warren and Sari Birmingham all scoring one. Alexander had two assists, with Chaney Smith, Mac Smith and Birmingham all making one. Norah Stites got her first goalkeeper shutout.
Sheridan completed HHC play a perfect 5-0, and is 9-7 overall. The Blackhawks travel to Tipton Tuesday to play Tri-Central in the first round of the sectional.

Noblesville’s boys finished their regular season Thursday by beating Brownsburg 2-1 in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
The Bulldogs scored their goal first 15 minutes into the game. The Millers responded 10 minutes later when A.J. Tippner finished a ball to tie the score. Miles Tucker put in the go-ahead goal at the 60-minute mark.
Noblesville finished its regular season 10-3-3 and hosts Pendleton Heights on Wednesday in a first-round Sectional 8 game.

University’s boys beat the Indianapolis Northwest HomeSchool Warriors 4-0 Thursday to finish their regular season.
The Trailblazers are 12-2-2 and play Tindley Monday in the first round of the Park Tudor sectional.

University’s girls team also won its regular-season finale on Thursday, beating Indy Warriors FC HomeSchool 1-0.
The Trailblazers are 6-7-1. They will await the winner of the Sectional 42 semi-final game between Cardinal Ritter and Covenant Christian, and play for the sectional championship on Oct. 8. University received a bye into the championship game.

Carsen Aleman scored the goal for the Blackhawks, who finished conference play 3-2 and are 5-10-1 overall. Sheridan plays Taylor Monday in a first-round sectional game at Anderson Prep Academy.
