At 9:49 a.m. Tuesday, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of State Road 38 and Horton Road regarding a crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck pulling a trailer.
A Ford F-350 pulling a trailer of Republic trash cans was traveling westbound and ran into the rear of the school bus, which was waiting to turn left to go south on Horton Road. The school bus was empty and the bus driver was not injured.
The driver of the Ford was flown by Stat Flight #3 EMS #0885 to St. Vincent’s 86th Street for injuries to his legs from being crushed. The school bus driver was taken to Riverview Hospital for a consensual blood draw.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is currently working on the accident.
