Carol Ardell Howard, 80, Fishers, formerly of North Manchester, Ind., died at 3:03 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Harbour Manor Health & Living Community in Noblesville. She was born on February 16, 1942, in LaSalle, Ill., to Charles F. and Doris (Hess) Robinson.
Carol was a 1960 graduate of Manchester High School. She married Laymon Howard in North Manchester, Ind., on May 13, 1961; he died on June 16, 1999. Carol worked at Timbercrest Healthcare for over 20 years. She was a member of Congregational Christian Church in North Manchester, where she lived for most of her life before moving to Fishers where she then attended Geist Christian Church in Indianapolis. Carol was active in the Newcomers Club in Fishers. She loved antiques, feeding people, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Rod (Carol) Howard of Noblesville; daughter-in-law, Tonya Thompson-Howard of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Tess (Jordan) Segner and Talynn (Nicholas) Thompson, both of Indianapolis, Jaema (Walter) Konovsek of Westfield, and Alicia Howard of Fishers; two great-grandchildren, Theo Segner and Teagan Segner, both of Indianapolis, and brother, Charles (Cheryl) Robinson of Greenwood. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Scott Howard; and brother, Terry Robinson.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, at a later date.
Preferred memorial is Alzheimer’s Association.
