The Carmel boys soccer team got its record back to even Thursday, as the Class 3A No. 9 Greyhounds beat 3A No. 14 Center Grove 3-1 in an away game.
Seniors Arjun Gupta and Josiah Shepson and junior Connor Dora all scored one goal, with junior Nick Basso and senior Braeden Thomson both handing out one assist.
“It was a hard fought game and it was good to get the win,” said Carmel coach Shane Schmidt.
The ‘Hounds play their next game Tuesday at 2A No. 1 Brebeuf Jesuit.

Hamilton Southeastern’s boys team, rated No. 5 in 3A, won a tough game over Pendleton Heights 4-3 on Thursday.
The score was tied 3-3 at halftime, with Logan Puls scoring all three goals. Puls got a fourth goal in the second half, and that would be the game-winner. Grady Garrard and Johnny Leeper both delivered two assists.
The Royals host Franklin Central Saturday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Westfield’s girls team, ranked No. 20 in 3A, cruised past 3A No. 12 North Central 4-1 in a Thursday home game.
Reese Sargent and Caroline Wallace both scored two goals for the Shamrocks. Sargent got the first goal, then Wallace put in both of her goals to give Westfield a 3-0 lead at halftime. Sargent scored again with 23 minutes left in the second half. Kate Malin had two assists.
Westfield hosts 2A No. 2 Guerin Catholic on Monday.

University’s boys, the No. 3 team in 1A, beat Seton Catholic 3-0 in a Pioneer Academic Athletic Conference game on Thursday.
The Trailblazers play another PAAC game Saturday at Muncie Burris.

Noblesville’s boys, ranked No. 4 in 3A, took on 2A’s top-ranked Brebeuf Jesuit team Thursday at Hallmark Orthodontics Soccer Complex in the Millers’ annual Pink Out game.
The contest ended in a 1-1 tie. The Braves scored first, getting a goal off a corner kick. Minutes later, Noblesville tied the game; Owen Mejia sent a diagonal long ball to Sam Divis, who dribbled the ball across the 18 and hit a hard shot past the Brebeuf goalkeeper. That tied the score, and it would stay 1-1 for the remainder of the game.
The Millers host Fishers on Tuesday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
