Midtown’s Got Talent auditions open until Aug. 31

Do you love singing in the shower or crooning along with the radio in your car? Are you ready to step on stage and share your awesome vocals with the rest of the world? If so, the City of Carmel and Allied Solutions have just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Midtown’s Got Talent presented by Allied Solutions is accepting auditions for the third annual contest to be held at Midtown Plaza in September and October. We are looking for talented and entertaining vocal soloists/duos and instrumental soloists/duos, ages 10 years and up, with stage presence and charisma to participate in the multi-week competition.

Contestants who are selected by judges based on their video audition will compete in a Youth, Teen or Adult category. The judges are looking and listening for participants who can “wow” them with their 90-second audition tape and then go on to entertain live audiences at Midtown Plaza throughout the contest. Contestants will be competing for up to $500 in cash prizes.

Auditions need to be submitted by Aug. 31.

“One of the reasons we focus on art and culture in Carmel is so that our younger generations can be inspired to discover their own talents and share them with others,” said Nancy Heck, Director of Community Relations and Economic Development. “Midtown’s Got Talent is the perfect vehicle to help individuals discover what they can do on a small stage, so that perhaps they may perform one day on a much bigger stage.”

Contest finals will take place Oct. 7 and 8 and cash prizes up to $500 will be awarded in each age category. As the competition narrows to the semi-finals and finals, contestants will have the opportunity to impress the judges with up to two songs in the final round.

The deadline to submit audition videos is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31. For details about the competition criteria and schedule, go to MidtownPlazaCarmel.com and look for the Midtown’s Got Talent logo and link to the registration form. The preliminary schedule is subject to change depending on number of contestants.
