Volleyball: Noblesville takes trophy at Bishop Chatard Invitational

The Noblesville volleyball team swept to the championship at the Bishop Chatard Invitational on Saturday.

The Millers won three matches at the event, all of them in straight sets. In their first match, Noblesville took care of Delta 25-16, 25-19. The Millers then beat Union County 25-18, 25-19 in its second match, then beat the host Trojans 25-14, 25-11 to claim the trophy.

Noblesville hosts Pendleton Heights on Tuesday.

Carmel went 1-1 at its own Round Robin tournament on Saturday.

The Greyhounds beat Warsaw in four sets, 16-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-17 in their first game of the day, also getting their first win of the season. In its second match, Carmel fought hard before dropping a tough match to Brebeuf Jesuit, 25-22, 25-22, 25-18.

The ‘Hounds host Avon Tuesday.

Hamilton Heights went 1-2 at the Western Boone Tournament on Saturday.

The Huskies played the host Stars first, dropping that match 25-14, 25-11. Heights rebounded to score a three-set win over Heritage Christian 16-25, 25-20, 15-9. Heights fell in its third match to Mount Vernon 25-15, 25-16.
